Military helicopter crashed in France, two people died

Two people died and five were injured in a crash of a military helicopter in the Upper Pyrenees.

“In the Upper Pyrenees, a helicopter accident occurred. On board were seven people, two were killed, five wounded were evacuated,” says the Prefecture of the Upper Pyrenees.

The accident occurred around 16:30 in a commune located 22 km northeast of Tarbes. According to the prefecture, two wounded were evacuated by helicopter to the hospitals of Tarba and Toulouse. Two of them are in critical condition.

The Cougar helicopter of the 5th RHC helicopter regiment in Pau crashed on an agricultural field, in the heart of a hilly and wooded area, near the village of Buil Dewan. Hitting the ground, the helicopter caught fire.

The tasks of the fifth regiment combine intelligence, armed intervention, maneuver and transport of all types of troops. He also participates in all internal missions, such as helping people after natural disasters.
