The balance of the first year of execution of the program shows the seizure of 1,262.9 tons of illegal and illegal products removed from the market.
Among the benefits of the program are the reduction in the occurrence of border offenses associated with agricultural goods, the disincentive to unfair trade practices, the protection of agriculture, the provision of services and the regular national industry, and above all the reduction of sanitary and phytosanitary risks associated with irregular international traffic, which can affect the growth of Brazilian agribusiness and, consequently, jeopardize the country's economic and social stability.
In all, 13 operations were carried out, seven on land borders, two on maritime borders, two in foreign exchange and two in trade. Brazil has a land border of 15,719 km in length, through which it communicates with 10 countries with different sanitary and phytosanitary situations.
The operations were carried out in 16 units of the federation: Mato Grosso, Mato Grosso do Sul, Rio Grande do Norte, ParaÃba, Ceará, Alagoas, Pernambuco, Rondônia, Acre, Pará, Maranhão, Paraná, Santa Catarina, Rio Grande do Sul, São Paul and the Holy Spirit.
As a result, we have 336 properties inspected; 2,731 vehicles inspected; 16 inspected vessels; 28 establishments inspected; 10 prohibited establishments; 336 assessments; 10 arrests in the act and 1,732 animals in an irregular situation.
The numbers of seizures are expressive: 209.25 tons of pesticides; 174.89 tons of fertilizers; 573.4 tons of seeds; 6,604 veterinary products; 149.51 tons of animal feed products; 112.92 tons of animal products; 42.93 tons of products of vegetable origin and 15,730 liters of beverages.
"Vigifronteira emerged as a new form of inspection, investigative, coercive and aimed at combating irregular activities, where the main beneficiaries are not only producers, service providers and regular industries, but the entire civil society. since illegal agricultural products and inputs, in addition to putting the herds, crops and the environment at risk, can also cause harm to the health of the population", highlighted the manager of Vigifronteira, Marcos Eielson de Sá. ■
