One crewman died and two wounded in Basque tuna vessel Txori Gorri

The tuna vessel Txori Gorri belonging to the Inpesca de Bermeo company experienced a tragic event on Sunday after one of the crew's sailors lost their lives when the boat worked in the waters of the Indian Ocean.

Everything indicates that the victim, a 27 year old Senegalese sailor, died after suffering an accident during a fishing set.

"The cause has been that the piece of the bow davit has broken," sources in the Basque tuna sector have pointed out.

At least two other sailors on the ship were also injured in the fatal accident, albeit "lightly wounded".

The Txori Gorri is docked in the Victoria port of the Seychelles, waiting to repatriate the body of the deceased fisherman.
