Agents of the National Police have dismantled an active criminal organization, based in Madrid, dedicated to international drug trafficking through parcel delivery companies.
The investigation has proven the relationship between the dismantled organization and the shipment of 150 kilos of marijuana to Ireland, the Netherlands and Finland; 1.5 kilos of a coffee mixture with ketamine, MDMA and methamphetamine to Dubai; and 2.4 kilos of ketamine to Mexico.
The investigation began when the agents became aware of the existence of an active criminal organization, of Chinese origin, allegedly dedicated to the international shipment of narcotic substances through courier logistics companies.
The first investigations revealed the shipment of three pallets from different storage rooms located in the towns of Parla and Humanes in Madrid, destined for Ireland, which hid a significant amount of marijuana buds inside.
Thanks to the collaboration of the companies that owned the storage rooms where the seized drugs were stored, the agents managed to identify several members of the organization, verifying that they had been making similar shipments for months.
They modified their modus operandi by breaking up shipments into smaller
ackages.
After the seizures made, the criminal organization modified its modus operandi and began to divide the shipments into smaller packages.
In addition, they made shipments in the names of different people and companies, using usurped foreigner identity cards that were listed as stolen.
After arduous police efforts, the agents intercepted the shipment of six other packages of marijuana destined for the Netherlands and Finland.
Likewise, they frustrated the shipment of two packages that contained, hidden in coffee containers, inside plates that simulated a false bottom, synthetic drugs.
Specifically, they seized a package destined for Dubai, containing one and a half kilos of a mixture of coffee with ketamine, MDMA and methamphetamine, as well as two and a half kilos of ketamine inside a second package destined for Mexico.
On the other hand, the agents have seized 150 kilos of marijuana, 4 kilos of synthetic drugs and 3 vehicles used by members of the organization to commit criminal activity.
The investigation remains open in order to locate possible links between the dismantled network and other shipments of synthetic drugs seized abroad. ■
