The Andalusian group provided drugs to the Galician, who had several flats in Ferrol for distribution.
22 people have been arrested in Ferrol (17), Sanlúcar de Barrameda (3), Ayamonte (1) and Jerez (1) and four handguns have been seized, a sawed-off shotgun, 30,297 grams of hashish, 300 grams of cocaine, 1,725 marijuana plants, 40,000 grams of marijuana buds, 1,500 grams of substance for cutting, 20,000 euros in cash and two Civil Guard uniforms.
The investigation began in the middle of last September when the agents detected the movement of people linked to drug trafficking from Ferrol (La Coruña) to the town of Isla Cristina (Huelva) to negotiate the transfer of drugs from Andalusia to Galicia.
Likewise, they planned the transfer to Ferrol of the Andalusian contacts to continue with the efforts of distribution of cannabis derivatives.
After carrying out numerous investigative tasks, given the important security measures adopted by its members both in their contacts and in their communications, the agents managed to find out the structure of the network, as well as its links with the mafias dedicated to the distribution of hashish. .
The evolution of the investigation made it possible to determine the "modus operandi" of the organization, both for the cultivation of marijuana and for the distribution of the cannabis derivative. In addition, the location of different buildings that the organization had as a "nursery" for the drug before its distribution in the market was established.
The investigators determined that the organization had a security flat in the town of Ferrol where the carriers stayed when they arrived in Galicia with the narcotic substance. In the house, it was stored before being distributed among local vendors.
Also in said house, at the end of January, there was a fire as a result of which more than 25 kilograms of hashish were seized and 5 people were arrested.
Finally, in April, Operation “Ruta de la Plata” was exploited, in which 22 people were arrested in Ayamonte, Ferrol, Jerez and Sanlúcar de Barrameda.
In addition, searches were carried out where four short weapons were seized, a sawn-off shotgun, 30,297 grams of hashish, 300 grams of cocaine, 1,725 marijuana plants, 40,000 grams of marijuana buds, 1,500 grams of substance for cutting, 20,000 euros in cash and two Civil Guard uniforms. ■
