Tanker ship runs aground on Spanish coast

A Maltese-flagged oil tanker Blue Star ran aground on the coast near A Coruna in Spain after being thrown off course by stormy weather last Friday.

The vessel was heading to A Coruna from Bilbao to pick up fuel and was not carrying cargo.

Burmese, Indian and Ukrainian crew were on board the vessel, La Opinion A Coruna said. No injuries were reported.

Emergency services responded with several tugboats and planned to refloat the tanker on November 23.
