The Grand Princess with more than 3,500 people aboard pulled into the port around noon local time. The disembarkation process is expected to take days.

The San Francisco-based cruise ship in connection with the first coronavirus-related death in California had been ordered to delay its return to the city and thus held off the coast.

U.S. authorities said earlier that 21 crew members and passengers had tested positive for the novel coronavirus.
