The year of 2022 was a year of big acquisition, no matter what turbulent times were around, the business of billions was big.

It all started in January when R1 RCM announced that it has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire Cloudmed.
The transaction valued Cloudmed at approximately $4.1 billion, including $857 million of net debt, based on R1’s closing stock price on January 7, 2022.
Based in Atlanta, Georgia, Cloudmed, a New Mountain Capital portfolio company, serves more than 400 of the largest health systems in the United States, including 47 of the top 50 hospital systems.
Intel and Tower Semiconductor announced in February a definitive agreement under which Intel will acquire Tower for $53 per share in cash, representing a total enterprise value of approximately $5.4 billion.
Tower’s expertise in specialty technologies, such as radio frequency (RF), power, silicon-germanium (SiGe) and industrial sensors, extensive IP and electronic design automation (EDA) partnerships, and established foundry footprint.
Anaplan in march announced that it has entered into a definitive agreement to be acquired by Thoma Bravo for $66.00 per share in an all-cash transaction valued at approximately $10.7 billion.
In April, M&T Bank Corp. has completed its acquisition of People’s United Financial Inc. in a deal worth $8.3 billion.
The combined company has approximately $200 billion in assets and a network of more than 1,000 branches in 12 states from Maine to Virginia and the District of Columbia. It employs more than 22,000 people.
In April Thoma Bravo has acquired SailPoint in an all-cash deal worth about $6.9 billion.
SailPoint, founded in 2005, provides software for identity and access management to help organizations mitigate security risks. The company went public in 2017.
Broadcom said in May it will acquire all of the outstanding shares of VMware in a cash-and-stock transaction that values VMware at approximately $61 billion.
Abu Dhabi sovereign investor Mubadala Investment Company and private equity firm EQT said in June they are set to acquire Envirotainer, a Swedish biophama transport services provider, from Cinven and Novo Holdings.
Pfizer and Global Blood Therapeutics announced in August the companies have entered into a definitive agreement under which Pfizer will acquire GBT.
