The proposed works aim to provide reliable power supply to the Integrated Waste Management Facilities on the artificial island and export surplus electricity generated from the waste treatment process to the power grid, which will in turn increase the use of renewable energy.

The works are tentatively scheduled for commencement in late 2023 and completion in 2024.
