Financing for the programme is being provided by the World Bank (WB).

The World Bank has signed a deal with the Nepalese Government that will provide $450 million of financing.

Reducing the time needed to transport goods across Nepal will help improve the country’s economy, as well as helping the country recover from the effects of the global pandemic.

The Nepal Government has set out its Strategic Road Connectivity and Trade Improvement Project with the aim of boosting economic development. One of the routes to be upgraded will be the road connecting Nagdhunga with Mugling and another will be the road between Kamala and Pathlaiya, which will be widened to allow two lanes in either direction.
