During the 5th Meeting of the Technical Committee on Argentina-Brazil Gas Integration, a technical team led by the Deputy Minister of Mines and Energy, Mauricio Bejarano, presented the country's competitive advantages for this initiative.
The proposal highlights the total route's length of 1,050 km, of which 110 correspond to Argentina, 410 to Brazil, and the remaining 530 kilometers to the Chaco region.
The route would take advantage of the Bioceanic Route, currently in the final stages of construction, thus facilitating the project's implementation.
Furthermore, Paraguay's geographic location, along with the flat terrain of the Chaco, a paved international highway, and the already assigned right of way, guarantee a more economical implementation for the transportation of gas.
The gas pipeline not only promises benefits for regional energy integration, but also represents a significant opportunity for Paraguay's economic development.
Its construction would generate multimillion-dollar investments, the creation of direct and indirect jobs, sustained development in the Chaco region, and a stable energy supply, positioning Paraguay as a strategic energy hub in South America.
The meeting—held virtually—was attended by a multidisciplinary team that included directors of Hydrocarbons, Alternative Energy, and Energy Resources, as well as representatives from the National Foreign Ministry and advisors from the Ministry of Industry and Commerce (MIC), demonstrating the Paraguayan government's commitment to this initiative. ■
