Bentley revealed plans for a triple-charged 4.0-liter V8 that produces 429 horsepower and 664 pound-feet of torque in Bentayga. And it's diesel.

The powerful 4.0 litre, 8-cylinder Bentley engine has clean technology and engineering innovation at its core. Bentley’s first diesel engine is also triple-charged – harnessing two turbo chargers and an electric powered compressor. This system delivers a dynamic response, far quicker than conventional turbochargers, especially at low speeds. This is the fastest diesel SUV available, delivering a top speed of 168 mph (270 km/h) and 0 to 60 mph in 4.6 seconds (0 to 100 km/h in 4.8 seconds).
Not only is this Bentley’s first diesel engine, it is also the world’s finest, delivering class-leading drivability, response, refinement, and practicality. It has clean technology and engineering innovation at its core. Featuring an extended range of over 1,000km, Bentley Bentayga Diesel is also triple-charged with two turbos and one electric powered compressor which delivers a far quicker, more dynamic response than conventional turbochargers would, especially at the lower engine speed range.
The new Bentayga Diesel also features a seven seat configuration option. This addition to the choices available makes it the only luxury diesel SUV with four, five and seven seat configurations in one body style. Bentayga Diesel echoes Bentayga’s striking design, yet stands apart from its stablemate with a set of unique exterior styling cues. All of which further amplify the model’s already distinctive character. Just as Bentayga Diesel is designed to take you to new places, so too is the range of innovative technologies.
Intelligent functionality, seamlessly integrated into the design, also helps create the complete Bentayga experience. New features include head-up display, night vision and Drive Dynamics Mode with responsive off-road settings amongst many others. You can lose yourself in the concert-hall quality sound system, or pinpoint your exact location in the middle of nowhere via the advanced navigation system. In all, over 20 new innovations have been incorporated into Bentayga Diesel. ■
