The New Cessna Citation Sovereign just rolled off the production line in the company's Wichita, Kan., factory. It's a new version of Sovereign, one of the most respected jets in the business class.

The newest Citation will have a range of 3,000 nm (3,452 statute miles) and a maximum cruise speed of 458 kts (527 statute miles per hour). It features improved cabin cooling, Garmin G5000 avionics with auto throttles, and a new cabin management system. Winglets, wingtip devices used to improve the efficiency an aircraft, have been added, contributing to the increase range and enabling a direct climb to 45,000 feet. With a newly announced five year warranty package, the New Sovereign offers owners even greater value.
The New Cessna Citation Sovereign is not just a new version, it's completely improved: it has updated avionics suite, new interior, new cabin management system, and performance enhancements.The company has also increased the terms of the new Sovereign’s warranty with a five-year vendor warranty and a two-year paint and interior warranty and thus reducing maintenance costs. Type certification and entry into service for the New Citation Sovereign is slated for the third quarter.
With the new Intrinzic flight deck powered by Garmin, a pilot will feel like he is in a cockpit made for a king. The Garmin G5000 avionics suite centers around 14-inch LCD primary and multifunction displays and four touch-screen control panels. An integrated, workload-reducing autothrottle system enables pilots to place more emphasis on the essentials.
The Clairity cabin management system allows conveniently managing of the cabin environment while staying connected throughout the flight. Interactive moving map capability and integration of smartphones, tablets, and MP3 players, along with an included airborne Internet system, mean that the owner and other passengers will never lack ways to spend the time, be it an entertainment session or a business talk. Judging by the previous model, we can expect the price to be somewhere around $20 million. ■
