Australian Railway Historical Society Queensland bringing steam train to Coast

The Australian Railway Historical Society Queensland is bringing the steam train to the Sunshine Coast on March 3, so residents and visitors can enjoy a ride from Palmwoods to Yandina and return.

The locomotive is scheduled to be a Class BB18 ¼ express passenger locomotive and will be hauling vintage long-distance carriages from the heritage fleet. The steam train will be arriving from Brisbane into Palmwoods at 11.25am.

Brisbane passengers will enjoy a coach tour to Queensland Wildlife HQ or Mapleton Falls. While those passengers are on the coach tour, the steam train will take ticketholders from Palmwoods to Yandina at 11.35am.

At Yandina, the steam loco will be turned, ready for the return journey, and the train will arrive back into Palmwoods at 12.50pm.

Adults are $30, children aged five to 15 years are $15.
