The centre for Copenhagen Cooking & Food Festival is housed on Israels Plads in Copenhagen, and hosts all kinds of food activities.
The festival promotes Denmark as a global food destination, and is doing a superb job of it – with 100+ events over the course of 10 days from 24 August to 2 September 2018.
There truly is something for every palate, from cosy dinners with Danish chefs to enormous food events with thousands of diners.
A large number of international chefs make their way past the festival this year.
You can experience them in action in anything from exclusive pop-up dinners to Top Dog Charity - The Unofficial World Cup in Hotdog - taking place 27th of August at Israel's Square.
The events run the gamut of food experiences, from free outdoor gatherings to high-priced culinary encounters with Michelin star chefs.
There are also food workshops taking place across the Friday and Saturday.
From 11am on the 25th there will also be a special ‘seed exchange’ at Puglisis Farm in Lejre, west of downtown Copenhagen.
Other culinary delights to look forward to during the festival include a ‘food crawl’ (like a pub crawl but with restaurants instead of bars), cocktail-making classes, a crayfish party, and the chance to learn how to make that most Danish of drinks – akvavit.
You need to purchase individual tickets for each event during the festival, and some events are already sold out. ■
The final few days of September will feature mostly tranquil weather conditions throughout the Nation outside of a few areas expecting scattered showers and thunderstorms.
