The Jais Adventure Park, located in the Arab Emirate of Ras Al Khaimah on Jebel Jais, the highest mountain peak in the UAE, recently added a new attraction.

Towering at 1,934 m above sea level, Jebel Jais boasts breath-taking vistas and thrilling adventures for every visitor. Jebel Jais is part of the spectacular Hajar mountains that were formed over 70 million years ago in the eastern part of Ras Al Khaimah, United Arab Emirates and Oman. If you are a thrill-seeker, then you must have already added it to your must visit list.
Since recently, guests have been able to take on a new adventure, a downhill ride on the new “Jais Sledder“ summer toboggan run and enjoy a panoramic view of the surrounding desert mountains.
Riders are taken along a 1,885mt. track, on sleds designed for two people. The attraction is located in the Jais Adventure Park, alongside the world’s longest zip line and the world’s first Bear Grylls Explorers Camp.
The riders reach up to 40km per hour as they hurtle down the Hajar mountain range swerving through a glorious panoramic view.
Single and Multiple Ride Tickets are available to purchase at the ticket office at the base of the ride or at the Jais Adventure Centre.
Jais Sledder is open 9:00am – 5:30pm from Tuesday to Sunday. Tickets start from AED 40 ($10) for one adult ride and AED 60 ($16) for one adult and child ride.
Riders must be minimum of 3 years old. Children up to the age of 8 years (or under 1.35m tall) must ride in two-seater sleds together with an older person. Children older than 8 years must be at least 1.35m tall to ride alone. Over 1.35m can ride solo or together, with a maximum weight per sled of 150kgs. ■
According to data gathered by environmental campaign group Surfers Against Sewage (SAS), there has been storm sewage discharge into the waters at beaches in Cornwall, Devon, Sussex, Essex, Lancashire, Lincolnshire, Northumberland and Cumbria.
