The Big Grill: Europe’s largest barbecue festival returns to Ireland

The Big Grill is Europe’s largest BBQ festival, and returns for its fifth year from 16th – 19th August 2018 in Herbert Park, Dublin 4.

The festival celebrates the art of cooking with fire & smoke bringing chefs cooks and pitmasters from Ireland, UK and further along with over 20,000 visitors to smell, taste, discover and learn about all kinds of barbecuing, grilling, smoking, vegetables, meats, delicacies and drinks.
Over 20 restaurants join for the weekend, with the only rule being they must cook with live fire using natural charcoal and wood only; no gas or electricity.
Cue competitive fire pit builds in the lead up to the festival and plenty of theatre over the weekend.
This years fire-filled line up, curated by pitmaster & festival co-founder Andy Noonan, has a distinct international street food vibe with New York, London, Buenos Aires and Birmingham all represented.
As well as demonstrations and, of course, plenty to eat and drink, there will also be some fun events like a hot wing and burger eating challenges as well as an appearance from DJ BBQ, children's play area with entertainment and loads more.
Your ticket gains you admission to the event within which there will be free demos, workshops, kids area, musical entertainment, BBQ competitions, eating competitions and lots of tasty authentic BBQ dishes to purchase at very reasonable prices, not to mention over twenty Irish & International Craft Breweries.
There will also be plenty of interesting stands offering for purchase everything from relishes to herbs, chutneys to ice creams and all manner of delights in between!
Ticket Prices:
Thursday €18 + BF in advance (On the gate €20 – Free in before 2pm)
Friday & Saturday €20 + BF in advance (On the gate €22)
Sunday €18 + BF in advance (On the gate €20)
Kids under 12 go free (Saturday & Sunday are kid friendly only)
Your tickets will be emailed to you, you can choose to print them or better yet, present them to them on your smartphone.
There will be no ticket collections available at the venue. ■
