Fish come in three sizes: small, medium and the one that got away. The Virginia fishing festival comes in only one size: the largest.Article continues below
The Virginia Fly Fishing Festival is the largest event of its kind in the country. This event combines fine wine tasting, microbrewery beer, a bourbon tasting class for adults, lectures from various fly fishing experts, kayak demonstration, and everything in between. Bring your family, relax, take a casting class, and pick up a new sport that the entire family can enjoy.
The 21st Annual Virginia Fly Fishing & Wine Festival will be held at The Meadow Events Park, just a few miles outside of Richmond, Virginia, on January 15-16, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Several wineries from throughout the Old Dominion provide free wine tastings for those 21 and older. All vendors are under roof and contained within the Farm Bureau Building at Meadow Event Park located approximately 2 miles east of Kings Dominion.
Previous festivals have been popular with families throughout the Mid-Atlantic, including some from as far away as Rhode Island and Georgia.
Fishing adds years to your life, and life to your years, as the saying goes, so join the festival. The festival will be held regardless of the weather. ■ What to read next
