Agreement signed to build Serbia-Bulgaria natural gas interconnector

Serbian Finance Minister Sinisa Mali and European Investment Bank Vice President Lilyana Pavlova signed on Thursday a financial agreement to build a natural gas connector from Nis to Bulgaria via Dimitrovgrad.

The signing ceremony in the Serbian government building was also attended by Serbian Minister of Mining and Energy Zorana Mihajlovic and the head of the EU Delegation to Serbia, Sem Fabrizi.

According to an EIB estimate, the overall project value is 85.5 mln euros, including a 25 mln euro loan from the EIB and a 49.6 mln euro EU grant from IPA funds, with the remainder to be covered from the Serbian budget and Srbijagas’s own funds.
