“We are hoping we can have -0.5 pct (in Q1 2021). I would like to remind you that we had by far the best Q1 result last year,” Vucic told reporters.

He said 6 pct GDP growth was a goal for 2021 and that he expected the second quarter to be much better in terms of GDP growth compared to the same period of last year.

“That is why we need to keep boosting the construction industry and the growth rate, which also means higher wages and pensions,” Vucic said.

He also said the number of employed people in Serbia had risen 2.7 pct to 2.24 mln and was higher by 400,000 compared to ten years ago.
