Zelensky noted that the program for the development of regional airports, in particular, will cover such cities as Dnipro, Uzhgorod, Poltava and Chernivtsi.

Zelensky said that the reconstruction of the international airport in the city of Dnipro had recently begun, while work on the construction of an international airport in Transcarpathia is underway.

According to Zelensky, there is a plan to build a new airport in Donbas specifically for civil aviation, but military experts believe it is still not safe due to the ongoing conflict.

On April 22, 2020, Zelensky announced that he was initiating the creation of a state airline company. The fleet of the national airlines was to be formed from Antonov's state-owned aircraft which would provide orders for the state-run concern, creating additional jobs.
