The headline stands true. I admit I borrowed it from the Rolling Stones, but I find it appropriate for the occasion. I saw the ultra portable P200 from Samsung and the words just came to mind. Great things happen these day in the field of small, smaller and oh-God-how-small computers and P200 is another spice for those who love those things.
As we in Histerius company are dedicated to the combination of business and art, having your beloved website you're just reading and design studio Histerius, we deeply appreciate a devices that 1) do its job, and 2) looks nice. Admittedly, we can talk about looking nice, but allow me to get back to that shortly.
Samsung Electronics entered the market of ultra portable notebooks and it seems it did a good job. P200 is obviously targeted at business users and we like the 12.1-inch wide screen model the most. It is an ideal companion to traveller for it weights merely 1.89 kg and some nice stuff is packed inside.
The heart of P200 is Intel's Core 2 Duo processor, the picture is generated by Radeon Xpress 1250 graphics card, so the Windows will feel just comfortable. The display is non-gloss wide screen which use SuperBright technology that give clear and sharp picture, and Samsung is proud of its visibility under direct sunlight.
The case is also adjusted to frequent moving around with Samsung's Protect-o-Edge casing, and Protect-o-SoftGrip (where there found those names?) is rubber lid that give additional protection. The battery will serve you for 3 hours which is bad but not terrible.
For business use you want (OK, we want) all kinds of connectivity we can get. Samsung's engineers packed in everything they found laying around: from 100 Ethernet, to Bluetooth 2.0 with Enhanced Data Rate, to Super G wireless... And they were boring so they built-in 6-in-1 card memory reader, web camera for teleconferencing, two USB ports and PCI Express card slot. As you can see, P200 is design with business in mind.
A nice touch at the end is the keyboard that features Silver Nano Technology. In English: There is silver nano-powder on the keys that kill all bacteria. Very, very nice if you share you notebook with somebody. ■
