The dual camera configuration allows users to perform several photographic tricks such as refocusing photos after they've been shot, as well as delivering vivid and accurately focused photos, even when taken under low light conditions. The P9 creates a composite 12MP photo that has sharper contrast from the monochrome camera as well as a superior depth of field compared to a single camera equipped smartphones. In other words, "We are better than anyone else, including iPhone."
The P9 comes with a selective focus mode, which allows for adjusting the lens aperture and focus point even after taking the shot. It also provides for some nice background by adjusting the aperture. Huawei says the 3,000 mAh battery will provide enough juice for 12 hours of continuous HD video playback, or slightly over a day of use. The 5.2-inch full-HD display reproduces very nice colors, and Huawei managed to fit all features into a 6.95mm body.
The device is very light for all it has to offer and with its 144g it is easy to grab it out from your pocket for a quick snapshot and it's easy for one-handed operation. The P9 comes in two different sizes. The P9 features a 5.2-inch 1080p display while the screen on the P9 Plus is a bit bigger at 5.5-inch. We really so no reason for those two dimensions because the deifference between them is very small, but OK, almost everybody has a 5.5-inch phone, and Huawei has it too.
Five colours are are available for you to choose from: dark grey, silver, gold, pink and white. The P9 and P9 plus are both powered by an in-house developed 64-bit 8 core processor, and they both use of a fingerprint scanner on the back. The P9 sports 3GB of RAM and 32GB of storage, or 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage. All in all, the new P9 is a nice device with a clear focus on customers who'd like a good camera on their smartphone. So, if you're into photography, take it into account. ■
