The Android 5.1 Lollipop-based ZTE Axon features a 5.5-inch QHD display with resolution of 1440x2560 and it is, of course, coated with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 for more durable experience. The device is powered by a very capable 64-bit octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processor clocked at 2GHz, clubbed with Adreno 430 GPU and as mentioned before, 4GB of RAM. So, there's enough power for any app out there, no doubt about that. It has 32GB of storage built it.
One of the highlights of the ZTE Axon is its dual-lens, 13-megapixel + 2-megapixel, rear camera with BSI CMOS sensor and dual-LED flash. Much like the HTC's Duo camera setup seen in One M8, the Axon's dual-lens camera lets users refocus an object after the image has been captured. The rear camera can also record videos in 4K resolution. The smartphone houses an 8-megapixel front-facing camera, which comes with smile-activated feature as well.
The connectivity features included in ZTE Axon are 4G LTE, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS, A-GPS, Wi-Fi, and USB. The smartphone is available in Ion Gold, Chromium Silver, and Phthalo Blue colour variants, measures 153.9x73.6x9.3mm and weighs 172.9 grams. The handset's audio is powered by Hi-Fi audio playback tech. The smartphone is backed by a 3000mAh non-removable battery, which is rated to deliver up to 12 hours of talk time and 240 hours of standby time on a single charge.
ZTE sells the Axon unlocked for $449.98 without tax. It you take another look at specs, you can see that's a decent price for such a powerful smartphone. Yes, there are no-name products out there with equally powerful specifications on the paper, but if you want a known name and feel a bit more secure if you have it, than ZTE, which has very good devices, is a model to take a look at, definitively. And it's designed in America which is another reason to take it seriously. ■
