Bentonville, Ark., USA - June 30, 2010, Bentonville, Ark., USA - Wal-Mart Stores announced that Eduardo Castro-Wright has been appointed president and CEO of Global.com and Global Sourcing, and Bill Simon has been promoted to president and CEO of Walmart U.S.

Mr. Castro-Wright will also continue to serve as vice chairman and will be transitioning through August 1, while Mr. Simon will assume his new responsibilities immediately.
Mr. Castro-Wright joined the Walmart U.S. team as chief operating officer in early 2005 and was promoted to president and chief executive officer of Walmart U.S. later that same year. He was promoted to vice chairman of Walmart in November 2008.
Mr. Castro-Wright worked for Honeywell International where he held the positions of president and chief executive officer for Honeywell Transportation and Power Systems Worldwide, and before that, president of Honeywell Asia Pacific.
Prior to Honeywell, Mr. Castro-Wright worked for Nabisco, Inc. in a variety of positions, including area president for Singapore-based Asia Pacific; president and chief executive officer, Nabisco Mexico; and president and chief executive officer, Nabisco Venezuela.
Mr. Castro-Wright also held various general management positions for Nabisco in several Latin American countries. He serves on the board of directors of MetLife and Retail Industry Leaders of America.
Mr. Castro-Wright graduated from Texas A&M University with a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering.
Mr. Simon most recently chief operating officer, joined Walmart U.S. in March 2006 from Brinker International, where he was senior vice president of global business development and was responsible for the growth of the company's restaurant portfolio outside the United States.
Prior to Brinker, Mr. Simon served as Secretary of the Florida Department of Management Services, appointed by then-Governor Jeb Bush. He was responsible for the state's operations and administrative function. ■
