Abertis appoints Luis Fortuño and Enrico Letta as new directors

Barcelona, Spain - December 1, 2016, Barcelona, Spain - Abertis, a conglomerate, announces appointments of Luis Fortuño and Enrico Letta as new independent directors of the company.

Mr. Fortuño Burset was the 9th Governor of the Associated Free State of Puerto Rico from 2009 until 2012; former chairman of the Partido Nuevo Progresista (PNP); and is member of the Republican party of the United States of America.

He is a graduate in Law by the University of Virginia (USA).

Mr. Letta was Italy Prime Minister between 2013 and 2014, and Member of the European Parliament between 2004 and 2006, among other responsibilities.

He is a graduate in Political Science by the University of Pisa and PhD in EU law by the Scuola Superiore Sant’Anna di Studi Universitari e di Perfezionamiento (SSSUP).

The Board of Directors approved the resignation of Miguel Ángel Gutiérrez Méndez as member of the Executive Commission, and the designation of independent directors María Teresa Costa Campi and Carlos Colomer Casellas as new members of this Commission.

Moreover, Marina Serrano González was designated member of the Appointments and Remuneration Commission; and Susana Gallardo, member of the Audit and Control Commission.
