Aflac names managing director, global chief investment risk officer

Columbus, Ga., USA - September 3, 2014, Columbus, Ga., USA - Aflac Incorporated, an insurance company, announced that Chak Raghunathan has been named managing director and global chief investment risk officer.




Prior to joining Aflac, Mr. Raghunathan was global head of risk management and chief risk officer at Apollo Management, where he was responsible for implementing Apollo's enterprisewide risk management framework, formulating detailed risk policies and internal guidelines for funds, and providing optimal risk management solutions.

Prior to his role at Apollo Management, Mr. Raghunathan held positions of increasing responsibility at TD Bank Financial Group, most recently serving as senior vice president; global head of trading risk and quantitative analytics.

He also held positions at the Office of the Superintendent of Financial Institutions Canada in the Capital Markets Division and Caisse de depot et placement du Quebec in the Tactical Investments Group.
