Alaska Airlines names John Kirby VP, capacity planning

Mr. Kirby has worked at six different airlines over his 31-year career, with experience working at carriers of all sizes, both international and domestic, low-cost and legacy. He joins Alaska from Southwest Airlines, where he served as senior director of international business management.
Previously, he was Southwest's senior director of domestic and international planning. He joined Southwest Airlines in July 2011 from AirTran Airways, where he had worked from December 1999, most recently as senior director of strategic planning.
He had worked at US Airways from September 1992 to December 1999, at Northwest Airlines from September 1989 to September 1992 and two years for Holiday Airlines. ■
