Alaska Communications: CEO Liane Pelletier to step down

Anchorage, AK, Alaska - December 2, 2010, Anchorage, AK, Alaska - Alaska Communications, a provider of broadband solutions, announced that Liane Pelletier, chairman, CEO and president, will step down as CEO, effective February 1, 2011.

Ms. Pelletier joined the company in in 2003, and prior to that Ms. Pelletier's career included 17 years at Sprint as a member of the Executive Management Committee.

Ms. Pelletier earned her M.S. in Management at the Sloan School of Business at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and a B.A. in Economics, magna cum laude, from Wellesley College. She currently serves on the Board of Directors for Icicle Seafoods, Inc.

The company announced that Anand Vadapalli has been named presiden and chief executive officer and will also join the board, while Ms. Pelletier will retain her role as chairman of the board.

Mr. Vadapalli serves as chief operating officer for Alaska Communications from October 26, 2009. Prior to that, Mr. Vadapalli was executive vice president of technology and operations at Alaska Communications, and has been with Alaska Communications since August 2006.
