Aleris announces leadership changes

Cleveland, Oh., USA - October 30, 2014, Cleveland, Oh., USA - Aleris, a manufacturer of aluminum rolled products, announced that Roeland Baan will become executive vice president, CEO of Asia Pacific.




Mr. Baan joined Aleris in 2008 and has held executive management positions with responsibility for Europe and Asia since that time. From 2008 to 2011, Mr. Baan served as Executive Vice President and CEO Europe and Asia. He was responsible for all business and operational activities for Aleris' European region headquartered in Zurich, Switzerland.

From 2004 -2007, he worked for Mittal where he most recently served as Executive Vice President and Chief Executive Officer, Mittal Steel Europe, and served on Arcelor Mittal's Management Committee. Mr. Baan had responsibility for operations in eight countries, including four integrated steel mills and four electric arc steel mills.

Prior to joining Mittal, Mr. Baan held senior executive positions at SHV Gas BV, a privately held international conglomerate with retail, energy, and venture capital activities, and Thyssen Sonnenberg Recycling GMBH (TSR), a metals recycling company.

Mr. Baan graduated from Vrije Universiteit, Amsterdam, The Netherlands, with a Master's degree in Economics.

Ingrid Jorg, senior vice president and general manager of Rolled Products Europe, has been promoted to executive vice president and CEO of Rolled Products Europe.

Prior to joining Aleris, Ms. Jorg held increasingly responsible positions with Alcoa and was most recently president of its European and Latin American Mill Products business unit. Before that she held sales and marketing positions for Bright Products, AMAG Austria.
