AMCOL International announces changes to executive leadership

Hoffman Estates, Ill., USA - December 1, 2009, Hoffman Estates, Ill., USA - AMCOL International Corporation, a producer of specialty minerals and related products, has appointed Ryan F. McKendrick to the position of Chief Operating Officer of AMCOL, effective January 1, 2010.

Mr. McKendrick joined American Colloid Co. in 1977 as a sales representative for the Environmental Products Division, and became division manager in 1978. He served as Building Materials Division manager from 1982-1987.

Mr. McKendrick was a division vice president-general manager for Waste Management of North America from 1993 to1994. He rejoined AMCOL International's CETCO subsidiary in 1994 as manager of international sales, and later that year was appointed vice president.

Mr. McKendrick was appointed executive vice president in March 1998 and president in November 1998. He has a bachelor's degree in chemistry from Northwestern University and a master's degree in business administration, marketing, from Northwestern's Kellogg Graduate School of Management in Evanston, Ill.
