London, United Kingdom - March 17, 2014, London, United Kingdom - Aminex, an oil and gas exploration and production company, announced several board changes and appointments.

Jay Bhattacherjee, Chief Executive, has been appointed to the Board.
Mr. Bhattacherjee, a reservoir engineer, has 15 year experience in the oil and gas industry and worked with Apache, Pengrowth, Scotia Waterous and Longreach Oil & Gas. He was appointed VP Operations at Longreach and was also part of Apache's unconventional gas programme and was integral in expanding Pengrowth through strategic acquisitions and operations optimization.
Mr. Bhattacherjee has been the CEO of Canyon Oil and Gas which he co-founded in April 2011. He holds a B.Sc Chemical Engineering with Minor in Petroleum Engineering from the University of Calgary.
Philip Thompson, Chief Operating Officer, has been appointed to the Board.
Mr. Thompson, a geophysicist, has spent more than half his 29 year oil and gas industry career directly working on numerous projects in Africa. He has previously worked for Exxon, San Leon Energy, Oryx Energy and Vanco Energy. Philip Thompson founded (2002) and became CEO of San Leon Energy (SLE).
Mr. Thompson co-founded Canyon Oil & Gas in 2011, which merged with Aminex in 2013. He holds a B.Sc and M.Sc in Geophysics from Texas A&M and Southern Methodist University.
Max Williams, Chief Financial Officer, has been appointed to the Board as Finance Director
Mr. Williams joined the Aminex Group in 1994 as Financial Controller at the time that it acquired its first Russian assets and was fully involved with its Russian development and production operations. He was appointed became Chief Financial Officer in January 2010. He is a Chartered Accountant who joined Aminex directly from the accountancy profession.
Brian Hall has stepped down as Acting Executive Chairman and will remain as Chairman for as long as required.
Mr. Hall has managed the Company since 1991, leading it into Russia in 1994 and profitably exiting its main Russian project in 2001. Under his management Aminex has worked in Russia, the USA, Tanzania, Kenya, Egypt, Madagascar, Tunisia and Pakistan.
Mr. Hall is a Chartered Accountant and was a co-founder of Halyard Offshore, an offshore industry consulting company. He retired from an executive role in the Company and later was co-opted on to the Audit and Remuneration committees. He is a member of the boards of Great Western Mining Corporation and Canyon Oil & Gas Ltd as a non-executive director.
Michael Rego, Exploration Director, is stepping down from the Board and leaving the Company.
Mr. Rego is a Petroleum Geologist. He joined Aminex in 1998 as Resident Manager in Tatarstan (Russia), becoming Group Exploration Manager in 2001 and Group Exploration Director in 2006. ■
