London, United Kingdom - March 31, 2014, London, United Kingdom - Anglo Pacific Group, a natural resources company, announced the appointment of Mike Blyth as non-executive chairman, effective April 1, 2014.

Mr. Blyth was appointed director in March 2013 and currently chairs the Group's Remuneration Committee. He has a BSc from St Andrews University and is a Chartered Accountant.
Mr. Blyth was, until his retirement in 2011, a partner for 30 years in Baker Tilly, specialising in providing audit and related services to AIM and full list clients. During his career he held a number of senior management positions with the firm, including a period on its National Executive Committee.
Mr. Blyth is replacing Brian M. Wides who has been seving as an acting chairman of the company.
Mr. Wides joined the board in June 1997 and was appointed Finance Director in September 1997. In July 2006 he was appointed Chief Executive Officer and on October 6, 2010 was appointed Director of International Business Development after standing down as CEO.
Mr. Wides has a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Witswatersrand and is a Chartered Accountant (South Africa).
The company also announced the retirement from the Board of John Whellock, Non-executive Director, and Mike H. Atkinson, Senior Independent Director, both with effect from this year's Annual General Meeting.
Mr. Whellock has more than 30 years of experience in the development and implementation of extractive metallurgy, mineral and chemical plants. He is the founder of JW Technologies providing innovative technology and thermal processing equipment for the metals, minerals and chemical industries. Prior to this he worked for Minproc Technology Inc and was founder and Vice-President of Tolltreck International Ltd.
Mr. Whellock was appointed director in March 2003 and currently chairs the Audit Committee. He has a BSc and PhD in Chemical Engineering from the University of Birmingham and is a member of the Minerals, Metals and Materials Society of the American Institute of Mining, Metallurgy and Petroleum.
Mr. Atkinson was appointed director in February 2006 and is currently the Group's Senior Independent Director. He chairs the Nomination Committee and the Remuneration Committee. ■
