Norwalk, Ct., USA - September 3, 2010, Norwalk, Ct., USA - Arch Chemicals announced the appointment of two Joe Shaulson and Luis Fernandez-Moreno as executive vice presidents.

Mr. Shaulson, who previously served as Senior Vice President, Wood Protection and Personal Care Ingredients, will have responsibility as Executive Vice President for the global operations of Arch’s Industrial Biocides, Personal Care Ingredients, and Performance Products businesses.
Mr. Shaulson joined Arch in 2008 as Vice President, Strategic Development, and he has played a key role in sharpening Arch’s focus on its biocides business portfolio.
Mr. Shaulson led the team that divested the non-biocides Industrial Coatings business earlier this year to The Sherwin-Williams Company.
Before joining Arch, Mr. Shaulson served as President of Hexcel Corporation’s Reinforcements business unit, a multinational producer of woven fabrics and specialty reinforcements for aerospace, industrial composites and other high-performance applications.
Prior to Hexcel, Mr. Shaulson was a corporate associate at the law firm of Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom.
Mr. Shaulson received Bachelor of Science in Economics and Master of Business Administration degrees from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania, as well as a Juris Doctor degree from the University of Pennsylvania Law School.
Mr. Fernandez-Moreno comes to Arch from The Dow Chemical Company, where he was Vice President of Dow Coating Materials, a $3 billion global business unit providing a wide range of coatings technologies and services to formulators in the architectural, industrial OEM, and transportation and corrosion protection markets.
Mr. Fernandez-Moreno assumed this role upon Dow’s acquisition of Rohm and Haas in April 2009. Prior to that, he was the Business Group Vice President of the Rohm and Haas Paint and Coatings Materials division.
Mr. Fernandez-Moreno joined Rohm and Haas in 1983 and held positions of increasing responsibility in operations, marketing and business management in Brazil, France, Mexico, the United Kingdom and the United States. ■
