Fort Lauderdale, Fl., USA - January 16, 2015, Fort Lauderdale, Fl., USA - AutoNation, Inc., an automotive retailer, announced that Mike Jackson, chairman and CEO, has been named to the additional role of president effective February 4, 2015.

Mr. Jackson has been the CEO of AutoNation since 1999 and the Chairman since 2002. Previously, he served as President and Chief Executive Officer of Mercedes-Benz USA, LLC, a North American operating unit of DaimlerChrysler AG. At Mercedes-Benz, he led a renaissance in the luxury vehicle brand's sales and marketing efforts. He also has been a dealer, operating as managing partner of Euro Motorcars of Bethesda, Md. from March 1979 to July 1990.
Mr. Jackson is a ten-time member of the Automotive News "All-Star Team" of automotive executives and a four-time member of Advertising Age's "Marketing 100." In 2003, he was named "Industry Leader Of the Year" by the Automotive Hall of Fame and in May 2011, Ernst & Young honored Mr. Jackson with a Lifetime Achievement Award under the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year® Awards Program.
In 2011, Mr. Jackson was named one of the top 50 Global Business Leaders by Fortune Magazine. Mr. Jackson was chosen to join the Horatio Alger Association of Distinguished Americans in 2014. Most recently, he was appointed to the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta’s Board of Directors.
Mr. Jackson is one of the nation's leading speakers on energy. He has spoken recently to Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth College, William J. Clinton School of Public Policy, Association of Metropolitan Planning Organizations and the North American International Powertrain Conference.
The Company also announced that Mike Maroone will be retiring on April 1, 2015, after over 15 years as President and Chief Operating Officer.
Mr. Maroone will continue serving as President and Chief Operating Officer and on the Board of Directors of AutoNation until February 3, 2015. Thereafter, Mr. Maroone will serve in a transitional role with the Company until his April 1 retirement.
Long-time AutoNation executive Bill Berman has been promoted to Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer effective February 4, 2015. ■
