London, United Kingdom - September 17, 2015, London, United Kingdom - Avis Budget Group, Inc. announced that it has selected Larry D. De Shon as the chief executive officer, succeeding Ronald L. Nelson, who has held the position since 2006.

Mr. De Shon, the Company's president, International, will become president and chief operating officer effective October 1, 2015, and will assume the role of CEO on January 1, 2016. He has also been appointed to the Board.
Mr. De Shon has been in his current position since January 1, 2015, where he has been responsible for overseeing all of the Company's brands in the International region. He joined the Company in 2006 and has previously overseen Avis Budget's Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) and U.S. operations.
Prior to joining Avis Budget, Mr. De Shon had a 28-year career at United Airlines, which included global responsibility for marketing, on-board service and airport operations.
Mr. Nelson, who became chairman of the board of Avis Budget Group in 2006, will continue as executive chairman after Mr. De Shon assumes the CEO role.
Prior to joining Avis Budget, Mr. Nelson served as president, chief financial officer and director of Cendant Corporation. Cendant was the parent company of Avis Budget. Prior to joining Cendant, he served as co-chief operating officer of DreamWorks SKG since that company's founding in 1994.
Mr. Nelson also was executive vice president, chief financial officer and a director at Paramount Communications, Inc., formerly Gulf & Western Industries, Inc., where he was responsible for all financial functions including mergers and acquisitions and strategy.
The Company's senior executive vice president and chief financial officer, David B. Wyshner, will become the Company's president, effective January 1, 2016.
Mr. Wyshner has served as Avis Budget Group’s chief financial officer since 2006. Prior to joining the Company, he was executive vice president and treasurer of Cendant Corporation, parent company of Avis Budget Group, which was created when Cendant separated into four separate independent companies in 2006.
Mr. Wyshner joined Cendant in 1999 and, before being appointed treasurer, served as Cendant’s executive vice president for finance, planning and development. ■
