Aviva strengthens leadership team

London, United Kingdom - February 7, 2013, London, United Kingdom - Aviva plc, an insurance company, announced that it has appointed a number of senior executives.

David McMillan has been appointed CEO of Aviva Europe. He will be the member of the Group Executive accountable for businesses in Spain, Italy, Turkey, Poland, Lithuania and Russia and he will become Chair of Aviva’s French Board.

Mr. McMillan currently serves as director of group transformation. He was appointed CEO of Aviva General Insurance in January 2010. In March 2012 he took on additional responsibility for Aviva’s general insurance business in Ireland, becoming CEO, Aviva UK & Ireland General Insurance.

Mr. McMillan joined Aviva’s group executive committee in April last year. Previously, he was chief operating officer for Aviva UK General Insurance appointed in November 2007. He has held the positions of chairman of Aviva Global Services and non-executive director of Aviva Health.

Mr. McMillan completed his undergraduate degree in finance and computer science at Heriot-Watt University, Edinburgh. He holds an MBA from the University of Chicago and is an Associate of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants.

Nick Amin is joining Aviva as Group Transformation Director and will become a member of the Group Executive. He has a background in driving change across multiple cultures and geographies in the insurance sector, in both Cigna and AIA. He was instrumental in preparing the company for IPO.

Jason Windsor will join the Group Executive as Chief Strategy and Development Officer. He will take on the additional executive responsibility of Aviva Investors.

Mr. Windsor is the group strategy director, responsible for leading the strategy and M&A teams at Aviva. He joined Aviva from Morgan Stanley where he was managing director of the financial institutions group with specific responsibility for United Kingdom insurance, including advising Aviva.

Mr. Windsor was also advising banks and asset managers. He has been at Morgan Stanley for the past 15 years in a variety of roles including corporate finance and capital markets and has extensive multinational experience.

Patrick Regan will continue as Chairman of Aviva Investors in addition to his other responsibilities.

Mr. Regan joined Aviva in February 2010 as chief financial officer, when he was also appointed to the Aviva plc board and as a member of the group executive committee. Since April 2012, he has also assumed responsibility for Aviva Investors and for Aviva's US business.

Prior to joining Aviva, Mr. Regan had been group chief financial officer and latterly also chief operating officer at Willis Group. He was also chairman of Willis Capital Markets and Advisory, the investment banking business which he established.

Mr. Regan's previous roles have included group financial controller at Royal & Sun Alliance plc, finance and claims director for United Kingdom general insurance at AXA SA and roles at General Electric and Grant Thornton.

Mr. Regan has a BSc in Mathematics from the University of Leeds and is a chartered accountant. He is a member of the CFO Forum.

David Angulo will broaden his remit to take on global responsibility for driving the development of bancassurance distribution across Aviva.
