Bank of Ireland appoints Francesca McDonagh as CEO

Dublin, Ireland - May 18, 2017, Dublin, Ireland - Bank of Ireland Group has appointed the head of HSBC's retail banking and wealth management in the UK and Europe, Francesca McDonagh, as its new chief executive.

Ms. McDonagh will also take up the position of Executive Director on the Board of the Group on 2 October.

She is currently Head of Retail Banking and Wealth Management, UK and Europe with HSBC.

Ms. McDonagh, an Oxford University graduate, has significant experience of technological transformation of both digital and core banking systems.

In the UK, she re-platformed HSBC’s digital offering and introduced a constant flow of innovative improvements to the bank’s systems.
