Barratt Developments promoted David Thomas

Coalville, United Kingdom - March 30, 2015, Coalville, United Kingdom - Barratt Developments, a residential property developer, appoints its finance director David Thomas as group chief executive July 1, 2015.

Mr. Thomas was appointed as Group Finance Director and as an Executive Director on the Barratt Board on 21st July 2009.

Prior to that he was Deputy Chief Executive and Group Finance Director of GAME Group Plc.

Before joining GAME, Mr. Thomas was group finance director at Millennium and Copthorne Hotels plc and previously held senior financial roles with House of Fraser plc and Forte plc.

Mark Clare decided to step down after nine years as Group Chief Executive to develop his non-executive career.

He was appointed Group Chief Executive of Barratt Developments Plc in October 2006.

Mr. Clare is a Non-Executive Director of United Utilities PLC , a member of the Government's Construction Leadership Council and is a Trustee of the BRE Trust and the UK Green Building Council.

He also sits on the CBI Construction Council.

Previously Managing Director of Centrica's British Gas Residential Energy operation, Mr. Clare joined British Gas in 1994, becoming Centrica's Finance Director in 1997 and Managing Director of British Gas Residential Energy in 2002.
