Doha, Qatar - May 20, 2014, Doha, Qatar - Barwa Real Estate announced the assignment of Ahmad Abdulla Ali Al Abdulla acting chief executive officer for the group.

Mr. Al Abdulla has 22 years of experience in Planning and Projects Management, with more than 7 years of experience in Investment Management and Real Estate Development.
During his career history, Mr. Al Abdulla worked as Planning Engineer at the former Ministry of Electricity & Water in 1992, then worked at Kahramaa as Project Manager for Electricity projects in 2000, and Head of Technical Department in 2004, moving afterwards to become Deputy CEO of the Energy City in Qatar, Libya and India in 2007, reaching Barwa as Deputy Group CEO.
During his years in Barwa as Deputy Group CEO, he achieved a number of successes being the Chairman of Barwa City project, as Eng. He played a significant role in selling Barwa Financial District to Qatar Petroleum, to change the name of the project later into QP District.
He established new projects such as Barwa Al Baraha (Workers Accommodation), Al Khor Shell project which accommodates Shell employees, and Al Khor Sports Complex for Workers. Moreover, he is managing “Baytna†environmental experiment which promotes green construction techniques in Qatar. He proposed as well a number of new attractive projects some of which were displayed during Cityscape 2013.
His past professional experience is full of mega projects and national accomplishments. He worked in the Energy City in Qatar, Libya, India & Kazakhstan as Deputy CEO from September 2007 until August 2010. He had a major role in setting the strategic plan for the first infrastructure project in Qatar for the Energy City.
Previous to that, Mr. Al Abdulla had worked in Kahramaa as Head of Technical Department and Projects Manager for electricity projects for many years, from 2000 until 2007, during which he was in charge of over 100 projects. He is one of the founders of Qatari Engineers Society and Qatar Scientific Club, and a Member of the Board in a number of different organisations including GCC Cigre and Qatar Green Building Council. ■
