Jona, Switzerland - July 13, 2015, Jona, Switzerland - Holcim announces that Bernard Fontana will step down from his position as CEO of Holcim Ltd with the completion of the merger.

Mr. Fontana will also resign from all mandates in all Holcim Group entities. Mr. Fontana serves as Chief Executive Officer of Holcim (Deutschland) AG. He serves as Chief Executive Officer of Holcim (Australia) Pty Ltd.
Mr. Fontana has been the Chief Executive Officer of Holcim Ltd., at Holcim (Deutschland) AG since February 1, 2012 and serves as its Member of Executive Committee. He served as Chief Executive Officer of Aperam from 2010 to December 2011. He served as an Executive Vice President and Head of Human Resources at ArcelorMittal USA Inc. (AKA ArcelorMittal USA LLC) until June 30, 2007 and until September 2010 respectively.
He served as Chief Executive of Stainless Division of ArcelorMittal since September 2010. He served as an Executive Vice President of ArcelorMittal since June 30, 2007 and served as its Head of Human Resources until September 2010. He served as Executive Vice President and Head of Human Resources at Arcelor Mittal from June 30, 2007 to September 2010. He served as Managing Director and Chairman of Nobel Explosifs France.
He served as an Executive Vice President of Automotive Worldwide at ArcelorMittal until June 30, 2007. He joined Arcelor in September 2004, as FCS Program Office Executive Manager and served as an Arcelor Flat Carbon Europe Executive Vice President of People and Development since July 2005. He served at the Chemical Group SNPE for 18 years.
Mr. Fontana served as an Executive Vice President of Chemical Activities for SNPE S.A. (Formerly, Groupe SNPE) since February 2002. He served as Chief Executive Officer of Isochem, Bergerac NC and Tolochimie, subsidiaries of Groupe SNPE since February 2002.
He served as an Executive Vice President of Fine Chemicals division for Groupe SNPE from January 2001 to January 2002. He served as President and Chief Executive Officer of Dynamic Materials Corporation from June 2000 to November 2000.
Mr. Fontana served as Vice President of Strategy and Business Development of the Chemicals division for SNPE S.A. from June 1998 to September 1999, a General Manager of SNPE Chimie from September 1996 to June 1998 and General Manager of Bergerac NC, a business unit of SNPE S.A., from 1992 to September 1996. His career began with SNPE S.A. In France and served as its Head of US Operations since 1998.
He served as Vice President of SNPE S.A., North America since September 1999 and President of SNPE Inc. since November 1999. He has been Chairman of Isochem, Bergerac NC and Tolochimie, subsidiaries of SNPE S.A. since February 2002. Mr. Fontana serves as Chairman of Nobel Explosifs Belgique, SNPE S.A. and Nobel Explosifs France.
He served as the Chairman of the Board of Dynamic Materials Corporation since July 2003 and served as its Director since June 2000. He has been a Non-Executive & Non-Independent Director of Ambuja Cements Limited since February 10, 2012. He has been a Non Executive Director of ACC Limited since March 28, 2012. ■
