Best Buy's IT chief Stephen Gillett leaves for Symantec

Minneapolis, Minn., USA - December 20, 2012, Minneapolis, Minn., USA - Best Buy Co. announced that Stephen Gillett, executive vice president and president of Best Buy Digital is leaving the company, effective December 21, 2012.

At Best Buy, Mr. Gillett was responsible for the company's digital, e-commerce, marketing, information technology, customer insights, enterprise strategy, corporate development, new business ventures, enterprise customer care, and channel design. He has been a member of Symantec’s board of directors since January 2012.

Prior to joining Best Buy, Mr. Gillett was chief information officer and executive vice president, Digital Ventures at Starbucks. Prior to Starbucks he held executive roles at Corbis, Yahoo and CNET. He was awarded with the inclusion on the "40 under 40" list, has been name the technology "Chief Of The Year", and as one of the most influential marketing leaders in America. He was named executive vice president and chief operating officer of Symantec.
