Biolase names vice president, managing director EMEA

Irvine, Ca., USA - September 23, 2016, Irvine, Ca., USA - Biolase, a medical device company, named Holger Arens VP and managing director for Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA), a newly-created position.




Mr. Arens has more than 15 years of experience in a variety of commercial and operational activities in international dental sales and business development.

Since 2013, Mr. Arens has been consulting with dental and medical technology entrepreneurs, investors and manufacturers in establishing business plans and implementing robust commercial processes to improve the performance of sales and marketing teams.

From 1999 to 2013, he was with KaVo Dental GmbH, based in Biberach, Germany, where he held executive positions of increasing responsibility, being promoted to Vice President of Sales and Service EMEA in 2010.

During his tenure in that position, he led a turnaround and significantly grew sales and profitability up to and after its acquisition by Danaher Corporation.

While at KaVo Dental, Mr. Arens spearheaded the company’s growth in market share, the increase in its after-sales service business in Europe, and the expansion of its footprint in emerging markets in EMEA, especially in Eastern Europe and the Middle East.

Prior to KaVo, he spent 10 years in roles of increasing responsibility with 3M Deutschland where he was introduced to the dental business when 3M acquired Unitek.
