New York, N.Y., USA - September 23, 2010, New York, N.Y., USA - BNY Mellon, a global financial services company, announced the promotion of four executives to the position of vice chairman of the corporation.

Thomas P. Gibbons is named Chief Financial Officer for BNY Mellon. Prior to this position, Mr. Gibbons was Chief Risk Officer, overseeing credit, operational and market risk management of the company and The Bank of New York for nearly a decade. He also served as CFO of The Bank of New York for almost a year prior to the merger.
Mr. Gibbons first joined The Bank of New York in 1986 and held top management positions in the capital markets business, including head of global treasury, with responsibility for asset and liability management, funding, money market trading, swaps and derivative products.
Prior to joining The Bank of New York, Mr. Gibbons was assistant treasurer at Handy and Harman, a leading refiner, processor and fabricator of precious metals.
He is a member of BNY Mellon's Executive Committee, the organization's most senior management body, which oversees day-to-day operations, and chairman of the company's Risk Management Committee.
He is also on the board of the Summit Area YMCA. Mr. Gibbons holds a B.S. in Business Administration from Wake Forest University and an MBA from Pace University.
Brian Rogan is Chief Risk Officer of BNY Mellon, overseeing credit, operational and market risk management. BNY Mellon is the corporate brand of The Bank of New York Mellon Corporation.
Prior to assuming his current role in July 2008, he was Chief Executive Officer of Issuer, Treasury and Broker-Dealer Services for BNY Mellon.
Mr. Rogan has extensive credit, market and operational risk expertise gained through leadership positions in securities servicing and corporate banking. Since joining The Bank of New York in 1981, Mr. Rogan has overseen a number of key business segments, including capital markets, global markets, credit restructuring, securities lending and numerous lending divisions.
Mr. Rogan received a B.A. in economics from The University of Rochester and an M.B.A. from the Anderson School of UCLA.
In addition the company named Timothy Keaney, CEO of Asset Servicing and Karen Peetz, CEO of Financial Markets and Treasury Services.
Vice Chairman James Palermo will assume new responsibilities as CEO of Global Client Management and will also oversee Global Markets, Liquidity Services and Corporate Marketing. ■
