Boston Scientific names Michael F. Mahoney president, CEO

Natick, Mass., USA - November 2, 2012, Natick, Mass., USA - Boston Scientific, a developer of medical devices, announced that it has named Michael F. Mahoney its new chief executive officer and president.

Mr. Mahoney has also been appointed to the Boston Scientific Board of Directors. He joined Boston Scientific as president in October last year with responsibilities focused on the oversight of Cardiac Rhythm Management (CRM), Endoscopy (GI and Pulmonary), and numerous corporate functions. He joined Boston Scientific from Johnson & Johnson, where he held a number of senior global leadership roles.

With more than 24 years of healthcare experience, Mr. Mahoney was Worldwide Chairman of the Medical Devices and Diagnostics (MD&D) division of Johnson & Johnson. Previously, he served as Worldwide Group Chairman of Johnson & Johnson's DePuy franchise, a leading orthopedics and neuro-sciences business. Prior to joining Johnson & Johnson, he served as President and Chief Executive Officer of Global Healthcare Exchange.
