Livermore, Ca., USA – Bridgelux, Inc., a developer and manufacturer of LED lighting technologies and solutions, announced that it has appointed Bradley J. Bullington as chief executive officer. [break]
Mr. Bullington joined Bridgelux from Seagate in 2010. Prior to joining Bridgelux, Mr. Bullington held executive strategy, corporate and business development roles at Seagate Technology from 2006 to 2009. Mr. Bullington held similar positions at Maxtor Corporation, where he was also a founding member of Maxtor’s Branded Products Group (BPG), an industry pioneer in the external storage solutions market.
Prior to entering the data storage industry, he was a management consultant for A.T. Kearney, where he served a range of clients focused on issues of strategy and operations in the software and technology hardware, aerospace, retail and financial services industries.
He began his professional services career at Deloitte & Touche. Mr. Bullington received his B.A. in Business Administration, with a Certificate of International Studies in Business, from the University of Washington.
Mr. Watkins has moved up to Chairman of the Board of Directors, having served as CEO of the company from January, 2010 until taking this new role.
Mr. Watkins has more than 30 years of experience in the technology manufacturing industry. Before joining Bridgelux, Watkins served as chief executive officer of Seagate Technology, a disc drive and storage solutions company, from 2004 through January 2009. Prior to the CEO position, he was the company's president and chief operating officer, a position he held since 2000. Mr. Watkins joined Seagate in 1996 as part of the company's merger with Conner Peripherals. In 1990, Mr. Watkins established the Conner Disk Division and managed its success through the merger with Seagate. Prior to joining Conner Peripherals, he held executive positions with Domain Technology, where he managed the MINT (Magnetic Information Technology) disc media manufacturing process. Earlier in his career, he was three times part of the management team that took companies public. ■
