Bruce Agin joins Ice Miller as partner

Indianapolis, In., USA - February 18, 2010, Indianapolis, In., USA - Ice Miller LLP announced that municipal finance tax lawyer Bruce Agin has joined the Firm as a partner in its Municipal Finance Tax Group.

Mr. Agin will focus on federal income tax issues in connection with the Firm's municipal finance practice. Mr. Agin began his career at Chapman and Cutler LLP and was previously the head of the municipal bond federal tax department at Peck, Shaffer & Williams LLP where he also supervised the Firm's arbitrage rebate service.

For the past 23 years, Mr. Agin has been advising all types of municipal and conduit borrowers on the federal tax law issues associated with tax-exempt financings with a particular focus on arbitrage and rebate issues. He has provided lead tax and structuring advice for hundreds of municipal bond transactions involving major governmental issuers, large health care systems, diverse cultural institutions and highly regarded educational organizations.

He regularly provides special tax counsel services for borrowers and other law firms and performs the rebate analysis with accompanying calculations and/or opinions for scores of clients each year.
