Mr. Rial also serves as Executive Vice President. Mr. Rial served as Senior Vice President and Corporate vice-president of Cargill, Incorporated. Prior to joining Cargill in July 2004, he was a senior managing director and co-head of the Investment Banking Division at Bear Stearns and Co. Inc. since April 2002. He was Senior Managing Partner of Bear, Stearns & Co. Inc. He was also a senior manager at bear Stearns in New-York and investment chief for the institution.
Mr. Rial serves as Executive Chairman of CarVal Investors, LLC and has been with it since 2004. He serves as Director President, Chief Executive Officer, Member Of The Supervisory Board and Director of Seara Alimentos S.A. He has been an Independent Director of Cyrela Brazil Realty S.A since 2010. He serves as a Director of Cargill, Incorporated. He served as Director of The Mosaic Company since October 7, 2010.
Prior to working at Bear Stearns, Mr. Rial held the position of board member with ABN AMRO since joining in 1984. He served as Member of Supervisory Board of LeasePlan Corporation N.V. Mr. Rial graduated in Law from universidade federal do Rio de Janeiro (ufRJ) and in Economics from Universidade gama filho. He also holds an MBA by instituto brasileiro de Mercado de Capitais (ibMeC), in addition to specialization courses taken at Harvard business School, insead institute, and Wharton.
Cargill President and Chief Operating Officer David MacLennan will serve as interim chief financial officer until the Cargill Board of Directors elects a successor. ■
