Centamin appoints Ibrahim Fawzy as independent non-executive director

Dr. Fawzy has over 50 years of Egyptian industry, economic and investment experience.
As a mechanical engineer, obtaining his PhD from University College, London, Dr. Fawzy held the key position of Minister of Industry of Egypt from 1993 to 1996.
Dr. Fawzy also previously held public sector positions such as Cultural Counsellor to the Egyptian Embassy in London and, between 1996 to 2000, President and CEO of the General Authority for Investment and Free Zones (GAFI).
Currently he is the Chairman of the Egyptians Abroad Company for Investment & Development, a listed entity on the Cairo Stock Exchange, and a Director of the subsidiary companies.
From 2010 until 2016, Dr. Fawzy held the position of Non-Executive Director at HSBC Bank Egypt SAE, where he was a member of the audit and risk, governance and nomination committees. ■
