Ludwigshafen, Germany - October 24, 2014, Ludwigshafen, Germany - BASF SE appointed Sanjeev Gandhi to the board of executive directors, effective December 1, 2014.

Mr. Gandhi has been head of BASF’s Intermediates division since August 31, 2010.
Prior to that, Mr. Gandhi served as Senior Vice President of Petrochemicals for Asia Pacific - BASF South East Asia at BASF SE.
After 12 successful years on the Board of Executive Directors, Andreas Kreimeyer will retire with the expiration of his contract following the Annual Shareholders’ Meeting on April 30, 2015.
Dr. Kreimeyer has been on the Board since 2003 and Research Executive Director since 2008. Dr. Kreimeyer served as the Chairman of Supervisory Board of BASF Coatings GmbH.
He serves as a Deputy Chairman of Supervisory Board for Karlsruhe Institute of Technology. He has been a Director of BASF Corporation. since August 2007. He has been a Member of Board of Executive Directors of BASF SE since March 1, 2003.
He serves as Member of Advisory Board at C.H. Boehringer Sohn AG & Co. KG. He has been a Member of the Advisory Board of Boehringer Ingelheim GmbH since August 1, 2008. He served as a Member of Supervisory Board of Wintershall Holding GmbH and Member of Board of Managing Directors of Styrolution Group GmbH.
Dr. Kreimeyer studied biology at the Universities of Hanover and Hamburg in 1982.
Martin Brudermüller, Vice Chairman of the Board of Executive Directors, will take over this role following the Annual Shareholders’ Meeting.
Dr. Brudermüller has been the Vice Chairman of the Board of Executive Directors at BASF SE since May 6, 2011 and has been its Member of The Board of Executive Directors since January 1, 2006.
Dr. Brudermüller is responsible for Performance Polymers, Polyurethanes, Styrolution, Market & Business Development Asia Pacific, Regional Functions & Country Management Asia Pacific at BASF SE.
He serves as Deputy Chief Executive Officer of BASF SE. He served as the Head of Ressort VIII at BASF SE. He served as a Member of Board of Managing Directors at Styrolution Group GmbH. He joined BASF Aktiengesellschaft in BASF's ammonia laboratory to work in chemical research in 1988.
In 1993, Dr. Brudermüller joined New business development and marketing of Intermediates division and in 1995, delegated to BASF Italia Spa, Milan, Italy, served as a Head of Marketing and Sales Intermediates, pharmaceutical chemicals, in 1999 as a Director of Production fat-soluble vitamins of Fine Chemicals operating division, in 2001 as Senior Vice President of Strategic Planning and in 2003 as President of Functional Polymers.
He served as an Executive assistant to the Vice Chairman of the Board of Executive Directors at Ressort Chemicals since 1997. He has been Deputy Chairman of Advisory Board at Styrolution Holsinf GmbH since October 1, 2011.
He studied Chemistry at the University of Karlsruhe. Dr. Brudermüller took his doctorate and has spent a postdoc period at the University of California, Berkeley.
